Hypnotherapy uses restorative techniques or principles in conjunction with hypnosis. In hypnotherapy, you enter into hypnosis which is a natural yet altered state of mind where there is responsiveness and communication with the subconscious mind. In our regular waking consciousness, we are in our conscious mind which is usually associated more with our logical, analytical, and reasoning mind. However, in hypnosis, we gain access to a deeper level of our psyche, the subconscious mind. This is the seat of our emotions, imagination, and memories. In this state, we can take suggestions more readily because the critical factor of the conscious mind is bypassed, and we can tap into the power that motivates our behaviors and our “life-force energy.” In this state, we can make powerful and positive change, discover more about who we really are, and open doors to unforeseen possibilities.

A hypnotic state is a deep, meditative state. It’s similar to being in a daydream, zoning out while driving, or even watching a movie, listening to music, dancing or doing yoga, when you’re focused and deeply into it. As an experienced hypnotherapist, I will guide you into this relaxed state. It feels comfortable and natural.

A lot of people are nervous about being hypnotized because of what we’ve all seen on TV. Will I cluck like a chicken? In a hypnotic state, you will not do or say anything you don’t want to. You are fully conscious, and fully in control.

It sure does! I’m living proof. And so are my clients. But to be totally transparent, it works best for people who are open to it working. Those who understand that there is a deeper mind-body connection and are willing to get to the source of their issue will have the most transformative results. Those with a deep resistance to this type of mind-body intervention won’t be the best fit.

Most of my clients find some resolution within 3 - 5 sessions. My goal is that in every session, we make progress!
